Kejriwal- Chief Minister or a Film Critic?

By Shivam Dixit Posted on Jul, 13 2017

Arvind Kejriwal attending screening of Ketan Mehta's "Manjhi"

Once I was interested in politics because of Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption during UPA Government. I did not have any knowledge of politics till then. After that I earned interest in politics. Soon a common man arose into Indian Politics, found a new political party “AAP” (Aam Aadmi Party) with a promise to bring a change into the society.

I also developed an optimistic approach towards the promised changes like every common man in India, but things changed gradually as per the political developments. Kejriwal came into power by a huge mandate and got the right platform to solve common man’s issues.

But it seems that besides running the administration, the Delhi Chief Minister is showing his interest in something else. I saw some tweets of him going viral on Twitter about Films, their reviews and ratings or performances. I was a film lover from childhood but not convinced when saw a responsible Chief Minister reviewing near about each and every film.

The fact that he has some really important things to do, he is involved in second kind of business. It seems that Kejriwal is in search of alternate business as he himself is not very sure of his future in politics.

I wonder the Prime Minister doing the same thing and the reaction of the opposition. There will be a huge problem. Kumar Vishwas belongs to the same party, belonging to same fraternity. He is superstar of Indian Poetic culture. Why not he reviews the movies and tweet some opinions. I am not a very high class thinker but being a responsible citizen, my conscious allows me to write this, so as to remind the Chief Minister his duties towards his people, the people who elected him to change their fates.

Despite of having all the responsibilities and work Delhi CM not only regularly watch films but also tweet out his reviews and ratings like a well qualified movie critic. I am little disappointed and not sure about the future of film critics like Taran Adarsh, Anupama Chopra, Komal Nahata and self proclaimed critic Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK).

It’s amazing to see that the Delhi CM is getting in trend for his film reviews instead of his duties as a CM, for which he has been chosen by the people of Delhi.
